The Studio
The light breaking into the studio from outside, and the light that exists within – it is this light that inspires me. Energy flows from the chaos of brushes, paints, boxes, sketchpads, an assortment of tools, and cherished souvenirs.
I embrace the challenge of the blank canvas, absorbing the play of shadows on the white. The fear is gone. It can begin – the game with pigments, materials, textures, with rust, iron, and the deepest black: bitumen.
Time no longer matters. I can work here without interruption, in a creative flow until exhaustion. For it is an ongoing battle of colors and shapes, of contradiction and clarity, of harmony and aggression, of provocation and letting go, of release. A new piece emerges, along with the understanding of harmony or deliberate nonconformity.
The studio lives and breathes with everyone who enters. It evolves with every conversation that takes place. My studio is a space that shapes and influences the creative process. It is my world, but one that remains open to all.
