The FIRST HERBSTSALON HARRY BAUER IN THE WHITE CUBE was a fantastic event evening with art-loving guests in the redesigned studios and gallery. “Making art (talks) socially acceptable again” was the headline in the media.
Harry Bauer's art salon draws on a long tradition - from the literary salons of the 17th century to the avant-garde artists' circles of the 19th and 20th centuries. As in the salons of Madame de Staël or Gertrude Stein, the aim is to exchange views on art, new ideas and perspectives - in a personal setting.
The building shone in bright blue. Right at the entrance, the eye was drawn to an illuminated white, meter-high cube - a symbol for the “White Cube”. There, Harry Bauer and his curator Dr. Lisa Fink welcomed their guests, who received a symbolic “entrance ticket” with the words “Welcome to the Kunst-Salon Harry Bauer! The dialog with art begins here! With the Art Salon, Harry Bauer and Dr. Lisa Fink invite you to a discourse on ideas and perspectives. Let yourself be inspired by the questions, enter into dialog with other guests!”
Harry Bauer's art agent, Steffi Weiss from Berlin, had developed the questions on an exemplary selected work especially for this evening. The result was a lively exchange in which the guests discussed and interpreted with enthusiasm. Harry Bauer provided very personal insights into his studio, his work and the process of creating his works.
